The standard needs level 1 according to the annex to § 27 of the Twelfth Book of the German Social Code (€ 563) is always to be used as the standard needs level to ensure subsistence. The declarant successfully proves their creditworthiness if the portion of earned income that can be seized in accordance with Section 850c of the German Code of Civil Procedure (ZPO) amounts to half of the standard subsistence needs for each adult and - in the case of accompanying children - a quarter of the standard subsistence needs. Proof of creditworthiness:
Both in the case of a short stay of up to three months (in a six-month period) without gainful employment and in the case of longer-term stays that require the approval of the immigration authority (§ 31 AufenthV), creditworthiness must always be proven by submitting suitable evidence.
Suitable documents are
- most recent tax assessment notice and BWA for the last financial year

- last pension statement (if receiving a pension)
